No Greenhouse
It's just a giant greenhouse
where plants are lush and green,
providing a perfect environment,
God's gift was so pristine.
But, now it's super heating,
getting warmer every day,
the weather changed so much,
when humans got in the way.
Where have all the ice caps gone?
They've melted long ago,
Where are the farmer's crops?
Those lovely grains of gold?
Where have all the fish gone?
and the trees that shade the parks?
Where have all the lakes gone,
and the chirping meadowlarks?
Why are no children playing?
no strollers there to push?
Where are the car and trains?
and people in a rush?
You see my friend it is like this,
It was man and crime and war,
nobody cared for you and I,
as they sat in corner bars.
They smoked their weeds,
they drank and fought and lied
while children left at home alone,
hid under sheets and cried.
They bet away our future,
as they stuffed their pockets full,
of stocks and bonds and profits,
high upon the market bull
They love to preached to others,
As they slithered in the night,
more interested in their bible,
than doing what was right.
The ice caps are gone forever,
the sun beats us to the ground,
the rain has been forgotten,
the wildlife not around.
The sun belt goes to Canada,
To the far most northern shore,
Where condos reach the sky,
and natives are seen no more.
I've heard there once were flowers,
and graves for those gone by,
the ocean wisked them all away,
with a raging salty tide.
There used to be a house on the hill,
built long ago, magnificant and white.
the man living there screwed things up,
because he loved to fight, that's right.
And so my friend we have just this,
we are lucky we have so much,
we are the genisus generation,
the future depends on us.
